Happy "Knew Year"
No. That's not a typo, nor is it a misspelling. I'm wishing all a Happy "Knew Year." Like as in the word know, which the American Heritage Dictionary defines as "to perceive directly with the senses or mind; apprehend with clarity or certainty. To be certain of......to have a practical understanding of...acquainted or familiar with." I don't know about you, but the past year has been the most volatile and unsettling of any in my "short"... Hurricane, Hizzicane; Which Is It?
The month of June denotes the beginning of the notorious hurricane season for the Atlantic and Gulf coast states of the U. S. For those of us who live in Iowa, we have little to fear, except for an occasional tornado. If we live in Colorado, which is my home state, a winter blizzard that dumps umpteen feet of snow will get its share of headlines. California...well, they could use a hurricane now, and a blizzard.
